Questions Answered

What is semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a medication used primarily to treat diabetes and obesity. It belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. These drugs mimic a natural hormone in your body to reduce appetite and regulate blood sugar levels.

Are there any side effects?

Semaglutide, like any medication, can cause side effects that range from mild to serious. The most common possible side effects are nausea, vomiting, reflux, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, fatigue, abdominal pain, and headache. Rare serious side effects include pancreatitis and gallstones. Your treatment is supervised by our medical professionals who will guide you throughout your journey.

How much does it cost?

At Refined Beauty, we use compounded semaglutide, resulting in a more affordable and available option. We have several plans and payment options available including Affirm, Afterpay, pay as you go weekly, and monthly payments. The average cost is approximately $350 to $450 monthly. The cost depends on your dose and how often you choose to make payments. Purchasing a 3-4 month plan will save you the most money.

What is the difference in semaglutide given in-office versus at home use?

Our in-office injections are a high concentration formula without added ingredients, resulting in better tolerance and fewer side effects. There is also the advantage of weekly check-ins with our medical staff to support and guide you throughout your weight loss journey.

How does semaglutide work?

Semaglutide releases insulin when blood sugar levels are high, slows gastric emptying to make you feel fuller quicker, and reduces appetite by activating receptors in the brain that control hunger.

Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance at this time. We do accept HSA and care credit, along with many other payment plans and options available.

Is Semaglutide appropriate for everyone?

No. Semaglutide is not appropriate for people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or allergy to semaglutide or ingredients. Our Nurse Practitioner will review your medical history and current medications to determine if semaglutide is right for you.

How quickly will i see results?

Most people begin to see results within the first few weeks of treatment. However, significant weight loss typically occurs over several months. A healthy weight loss is about 10 pounds monthly. Combining your treatment with a healthy diet and exercise will enhance your results and improve your overall health. Additionally, vitamin injections can be added to your plan to enhance your weight loss by boosting metabolism and improving energy levels.
